There are only three days left on kickstarter!! The new brand that I’m working for Crowned Bird is raising money to get a booth at the California Market Center! We’d love it if you could help out in any way; promoting, donating, sharing on FB…anything really. Honestly, it would mean so much to me if any of you could help at all. This is a line that I truly believe in and would love to see it all come to life! Here are some photos that Heather Gildroy took of me wearing the samples:

I wore this maxi dress to have brunch at a Belizean restaurant and then off to the Rose Garden in Downtown LA, where I walked through the flowers and ate ice cream! It was such a perfect little Sunday. This spring/summer I’ve found myself eye-ing maxi dresses more than minis, which is such a change for me! I figured it was time to step away from shorter hemlines and wear flowy, more elegant pieces. Of course, I’ll still throw on a mini dress when I feel like it but my long length dresses are definitely growing!
Outfit Details: Floral Maxi Dress, Michael Kors Ankle Strap Heels, Tan Clutch Giveaways: I’m hosting two giveaways, one on facebook and the other a few posts down! You can win a beautiful dress, a 50 dollar gift card and a special surprise! Kickstarts: I’m a part of this amazing line called Crowned Bird! We’re currently raising money to launch our new collection..we only have a couple of days left on Kickstarter. I’d appreciate any and all the help! Thanks.

As many of you know, I’m a HUGE fan of The Great Gatsby. It fills me with inspiration every time I read it and boy, have I read it! With over 5 copies, hard back, paper back, vintage & brand new, I’ve read The Great Gatsby at least 10 times. When I was sixteen I made it a tradition that every summer I would re-read it & every summer, I just get lost in the pages; dreaming of the extravagant parties, mapping out what could have been or should’ve been, making up the characters in my mind and imagining everything from the interior of Gatsby’s mansion to the exterior of the Tuolomee! Yes, my blog was named after the yacht that “represented all the beauty and glamour in the world”. Anyhow, the trailer is finally out!! It stars Leonardo Dicaprio as Gatsby and Tobey McGuire as Nick Carraway.. two actors that I really admire! I’m definitely looking forward to Christmas.
Did you like it, hate it, love?! Let me know your thoughts!

This Summer I’m actually excited about the footwear! It finally looks like everyone is getting over those horrid Jeffrey Campbell Lita Heels. I never thought it would end! It seemed like every week they were coming out with a new pattern, color or material. It was awful. I had to turn away every time I saw a girl stumbling out of a bar in them, towering over everyone in what seemed like anchors on their feet…but I guess to each their own. Anyhow, I might have mentioned that I work at 80spurple.com and we’ve been getting AMAZING shoes in this season!! I’m usually more of an oxford heels type of girl, but this summer I’ve been drawn to wedges, platform heels and open toes! Anyhow, here are my top five shoes for summer:
The denim material gives a nice twist to these platform heels. I love the peep toe, the T-strap and the pretty bow at the heel!
Bows have always been my favorite, so these shoes are instantly at the top of my want list! & I’m loving white for summer because it gives off a clean look and is easy to wear with colors and prints!
These adorable Zig Zag patterned heels are the perfect statement piece! It can brighten up any simple outfit or even add to an already colorful look.Mixing prints is definitely in this season and I can’t help but mentally style these shoes into so many of my summer beach outfits! I bet it even goes well with swimwear!
These MJ wedges give a more neutral look to summer outfits. They’re definitely go-to summer heels because of the classic wedge and strap details. I also love the tribal design in the heel! So perfect for festivals or BBQs.
The Blue outline of these classic cork heels set them apart from all other cork heels! Some outfits just need a touch of color to tie everything in, and this is the perfect way to add that touch! What are your favorite shoes for summer?
