marc by marc jacobs s/s 2013.

Some part of me is a little bit disheartened by the Marc By Marc Jacobs S/S 2013 collection. MBMJ is always the brand I look forward to the most when Fashion Week rolls around, and honestly, this time I was the least bit impressed. We get it. Bold berry colors, Mixed prints, WRAPS! WRAPS! WRAPS!, it’s all very nice but nothing innovative, inspirational and it was just a bit…trite. Nothing we haven’t seen before from Marc. The only piece that really caught my eye were the high waisted stripe shorts and I wore a similar pair to a cemetery screening in Hollywood. Is Marc falling behind in the fashion world? What a great big disappointment. Hopefully he’ll pull things together next season..or maybe this collection will eventually grow on me and I’ll love it next year when it hits the stores. We’ll see. Anyhow, Here are the pieces I actually liked:

david cortes (part 3).

A couple of photos from a shoot I did with photographer, David Cortes and stylist, Kristy Benjamin. They’re both so incredibly talented and amazing to work with. I’m happy with the turn out:

happy halloween.

Halloween is such an interesting holiday. We all wear costumes and mask and paint our faces, so that we’re unrecognizable. Then we scare one another and eat candy. We really can be anyone or anything we want this day. Why do we only do this once a year?! It should happen at least once a month. Better yet, every week. If we all dressed up and pretended to be someone else more often…I’d probably like people more.

Catwoman. Minnie Mouse. Robin. Storm.

Oh, & I’m on Instagram now: @tiffanyborland :)
I hope you all have a happy and safe Halloween!! Love you guys.

manhattan.

I wore this a while back to see Woody Allen’s Manhattan at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery. It’s strange to think that over a year ago, the first time my boyfriend & I ever hung out, he took me to a cemetery screening to see Warriors. So much time has passed between then and now and I still love going with him, laying blankets on the grass and eating watermelon spears. It’s become such a significant part of my summer and now I can’t wait for next year..

and a Black&White photo in honor of Manhattan:

top five autumn dresses.

As the season’s shift from summer to winter, I’ve been eyeing wool pinafores, higher necklines and dresses in deep tones. During this transitional season, I really love throwing on different fabrics and darker, jeweled, rustic colors while drinking Hot Chocolate and sitting by fireplaces or out at holiday party. Here are my top five dresses this Autumn:

1. Skater Dress in Lace and Velvet
2. Golden Garden Dress
3. Barnaby Pleated Dress by Eva Franco
4. Gathered Lace Dress
5. ASOS Check Pinafore Dress
