I don’t own sweatpants or anything too comfortable, simply because I never want to get too comfortable…with anything; Clothes, Life, Dreams, People. Though there’s obviously exceptions, I feel like sweats are a perfect metaphor for giving up. Even Karl Lagerfield was quoted “Sweatpants are a sign of defeat. You lost control of your life, so you bought some sweatpants.” With that said, this is probably the closest I’ve got to sweats or comfortable clothes to just throw on (aside from jeans and a t-shirt) and they’re absolutely perfect. I love the ribbed detailing and double striped band. It’s easy to dress up or down, depending on footwear and how you style it, it can definitely make you look like the most athletic person, on the go. Just throw on your nikes and toss your hair into a ponytail and you’re ready!

Captain.

Captain.
I was 18 going on 19 when I met Captain through a bunch of mutual friends. He was just starting out with photography and we had so many ideas. He was driven and passionate and so easy to work with. We started meeting up just about everywhere; me with clothes and him with his camera. We meshed so well and instantly became best friends, collaborators and artists. It’s so strange to think of our first photoshoot in the basement of his apartment complex, and how much we both have grown since. Now our shoots are few and far between due to busy schedules and growing up, but we still make time here and there, to get together and make our ideas come to life. Here’s what we created one random Tuesday afternoon when he called me up and said “What are you doing? Let’s shoot.”

one for the road.

one for the road.
Nothing says “California” quite like palm tree lined streets and blue skies. I’ve been wandering around the city on my days off, which are few and far between, and discovering hidden gems, new restaurants and soon to be favorite places. Everything this past month has fallen into place quite nicely. I’m certainly the happiest that I’ve ever been and learning more than I ever have. I’ve even been finding the time to wear some of my favorite pieces, like this For Love & Lemons Ethereal Set that’s been sitting in my closet for far too long. It perfectly combines elegance with edge and I can’t tell you how many people compliment this co-ord.

such simple things.

such simple things.
Guys, it’s seriously been over 80 degrees this past week! It looks like Summer is coming a bit early…or maybe it never really left? Either way, these upcoming Summer days are amongst us and the typical LBD needs an upgrade. Try wearing a loose maxi with fun cut-outs and a dangerously low back. I got this little number from Tobi and it’s the perfect breezy dress that is the right balance between basic and eye-catching. I love the surprise open back that leaves everyone turning heads. Who would’ve thought that such a simple dress would be such a conversation starter? It’s perfect for casual days, when you want to be comfortable yet sexy. :*

pleated skirts and denim shirts.
Pleated skirts and denim shirts have become my “go-to”, simply because they’re both classic pieces and SO comfortable to wear. I’ve been pairing the two at least once a week and I can’t tell you how refreshing it is to wear denim up top, instead of just as jeans. This little cropped top, in particular is complete with mesh sleeves and frayed edges. It’s the perfect casual tee for a simple day out for brunch or running errands.

guess?

guess?
When I was younger Guess? Jeans were the only denim I’d ever wear. It was my Mom’s favorite brand, and I remember sitting in the store for hours while she tried on different pairs of Jeans and she’d always rave about how they were the only jeans that fit perfectly. Maybe she was right because decades later, I find myself following in her footsteps. Even more so, since I’m prancing around in full Guess? outfits and I still share the same sentiments; they really do fit perfectly.
