fashtique; for love & lemons.
I’ve been going out to dinner parties and social outings every week, so I’ve been stocking up on beautiful dresses to wear out with my audacious friends. I love the dress collection that Fashtique carries, especially their For Love & Lemons and Cameo pieces. This little black dress is perfect for nights out, with an interestingly cut out center and a zig zag hemline. It can even be perfect for Valentine’s Day out with the boy. You’ll definitely be turning heads…maybe even breaking necks. 😛

I’ve never been a huge fan of designer labels and even more so brand names splattered across t-shirts and accessories, but there’s something different about Moschino. Maybe it’s the blatant use of the name or the overall kitschy-ness that makes it humorous, fun and interesting, in a way. Plus, I love the bold capitalized letters and how you never really know what’s going with such extreme novelty-like items. I mean, don’t get me started on the Barbie inspired collection or the McDonalds infused pieces. These Moto themed items are tame in comparison and they’re also the perfect touch of “over-the-top” without being too, you know, over the top…

I pieced some of my favorite Moschino accessories including an adorable Moto Crossbody Bag with a Kenzo Denim Dress that’s perfectly fitted. I love denim & leather paired together and anything that represents a motorcycle jacket. :p

There is something nice about colder days in California…maybe it’s the fact that it never gets TOO cold and it when it does, you just appreciate it because it happens so quickly. It rained one day this week and we all buckled down in coats and umbrellas, which is quite funny. 😛

On the cooler days I’ve been throwing on this amazing Vintage Faux Fur Jacket from Member’s Only. It’s the perfect overcoat for dinner out with the girls or just when you want to feel a bit fancier. I paired mine with some of my favorite Stella McCartney Heels and a Marc Jacobs Little Stam Purse.

tom boy days.
I somewhat mentioned my “Tom Boy” days in the post prior and I feel like lately I’ve been including elements from those times when I spent every day wearing pony tails, simple tees and oddly cut denim. I think we all go through that “awkward phase” where we later look back and question our decisions — especially when it comes to fashion. But I also think it’s important to appreciate those times because at the end of the day…it’s still a part of you. Anyhow, it’s a fun reminder of when I rode bikes with the boys around my block, climbed trees and pulled pranks on our neighbors. I never would have worn a dress then..which, makes me laugh now. 😛

Lately, I’ve been absolutely in love with lightwash denim, well…all denim. I’ve been styling the classic American piece in such a simple and laid back way; Stripes, White T-shirts, and more Denim. Maybe this is somewhat James Dean-ish but I can’t help but love the minimalistic aspect. It’s very clean and under done and in a way..honest. I feel like it screams America in the most glorious way! Plus, it takes me back to my ol’ tomboy days when I grew up with the boys, climbed trees and pulled pranks. 😛

Anyhow, I’ve been throwing on similar outfits all week to run errands and grab coffee, quite different than my younger self. Haha. I’ll soon be posting a more feminine version.

I’m always caught being “over dressed” for every occassion, but I don’t mind at all. I will always love wearing doll-like dresses and overly embellished heels to dinners, parties and any event ever. There never needs to be a “special” occassion…because every evening is special, so wear the dress and feel good about yourself!
