tiffany blue.

I’m all about light, pastel colored pieces this summer. I think sky blues, light pinks and lavenders makes you look and feel more fresh (no wonder soap is usually one of those colors)! Plus, I feel like they are an upscale take on typical summer colors, which are usually bold and bright. I wore this outfit on Saturday to a beauty brunch and then to a Steven Alan Eyewear event. The Tiffany Blue has always been pretty fitting for me 😉 and I thought it was the right color to soften the black accessories and overall look. Plus, it’s a great addition to the dainty bow at the back of my dress and my ankle strap heels. I think adding statement accessory pieces to simple dresses or outfits, really makes the head to toe look more interesting and put together. The easiest way to change up a look is to add is a fun belt ! I got this black bow belt at H&M for about 10 dollars, and it came in a few other colors, as well.

sweater weather.

Congratulations to my coworker, Anthony for finally popping the question to his lovely girlfriend! She’s pretty amazing, so it’s no surprise. Haha. I coincidentally wore this sweater that she bought me, the same day he proposed! It’s such a great piece and I fell in love with it the second I saw it. It’s pretty perfect for the crazy California weather, that’s warm during the day and super cold at night. & It’s just one of those items that can instantly make whatever you’re wearing look classy and chic. Plus, I’m pretty sure it brings good luck! 😉 Thank you, Wendy & congratulations again.

may flowers.

If April showers bring May flowers…then what do May flowers bring? PILGRIMS! Okay. Okay. This post really has nothing to do with pilgrims, but it does have A LOT to do with flowers and this week being the end of May! So, I decided to put together some outfits that revolve around one of my all time favorite prints- FLORAL! Let’s face it, floral print goes hand in hand with Spring/Summer the same way knitwear and muted tones remind us of Fall. Sometimes it seems over done or like it’s too much, but really… I never get tired of wearing it and my closet is literally overflowing with daisies, roses and tulips printed on pretty dainty dresses and fitted rompers. Aside from floral printed clothing, I also love floral headpieces, shoes, and accessories. Flowers always seem to add a nice, elegant touch to things. Plus, I love feeling feminine and girly and wearing floral does just that. :) I guess it’s time to stop and smell the roses…

grid lines.

This is one of my favorite dresses that I will soon be selling in my online store (it’s taking a lot longer than expected). I love the classic yet modern feel of it! The peter pan collar at the neck is my favorite part and the dress is perfectly fitted at the waist and flows out beautifully. I always feel like it’s hard to find a dress that fits in all of the right places, so I was thrilled that this fit perfectly. Plus, I’m a huge fan of grid print and color cream right now! :) I will make a post once my online store is up and this dress in particular is available!

guide to gatsby.

Pretty much everyone knows that I’m a huge fan of The Great Gatsby. My blog, Tuolomee is actually named after the yacht in The Great Gatsby. I read the book every summer to gain inspiration and fall back into a place of drop waist dresses, extravagant mansions and genuine love. I had mixed feelings when I initially heard about the movie because I hold on tight to the image I’ve created in my mind and I’d hate the thought of anyone tainting the way I see Gatsby or Daisy or Nick. But the movie was great, I loved almost everything. Personally, I think it would have been much better without Jay-Z and Beyonce’s music and although Leonardo Dicaprio is an amazing actor, I don’t think he looked the part of Gatsby (or at least not what I had thought him up to be). I do think the movie hit the nail on the head when it came to fashion. The dresses and accessories were perfect and I loved all of the suits Gatsby wore and the dresses that draped across Daisy. In honor of the novel and the movie’s success, I put together a little ‘Guide to Gatbsy’, so you can get a modern version of that 1920s look! 😉

memorial day.

Happy Memorial Day!! I’ll be spending the start of my day at a memorial day marathon and then going to a rooftop pool party to celebrate the beginning of summer. I’ll finally have the chance to wear these Vegan Leather Overalls from Forward To All! I’ve been eyeing them for a while and I think they’re the perfect summer staple! You can even wear them as a cover up over your swimwear. :)
