JCP x Chictopia

JCP x Chictopia
I grew up shopping at JC Penney, so it’s no surprise that I was thrilled to take part in this collaboration with them with Chictopia/Chictopia Connect. They have such a large variety of fun brands and some of my favorite designers like Liz Claiborne, Olsenboye and MNG by Mango. I paired this Stylus Bomber jacket with the softest MNG by Mango pants! It makes for the perfect casual look.

swimwear 360.
Living in California, is like living in Endless Summer. Our days have heated up with over 80 degrees & clear skies all week, and the week after and so forth. It’s no surprise that swimwear has piled up in my wardrobe and in some cases, become my wardrobe. I’ve been searching high and low through Swimwear 360 picking out my favorite pieces for this Summer season. I plan on spending all my free time traveling up the coast from beach to beach, laying in sands and walking piers, so it’s only fitting that I have the attire to match. The online shop has tons of brands including Trina Turk and Malai, as well as every swimsuit style that you can think of. I’ve always been a fan of interesting cut one pieces, fun two pieces and cover ups that are perfect for your quick time off the sand..whatever it is, Swimwear 360 has it. This Two Piece set by Malai is one of my favorite pieces from the online shop, the top is perfectly supportive for swims and the bottoms are ideal with a contrasting waistband and fun, vibrant print. This suit has quickly become one of my “go to” swimsuits. I paired my two piece set with a wide brim black hat, a drawstring bag and comfortable open toe heeled sandals for my walk on the boardwalk or pier.

Another one of my Alice McCall favorites has been this sage cold-shoulder playsuit. I had planned to wear this out to Coachella, since it’s so light and airy but was terrified of it getting ruined with dust, sweat and people passing by. So, here I am just walking safely around in a Los Angeles neighborhood where no harm can happen to my garment! Whoop!

vintage.
I love wearing vintage pieces not only because it’s environmentally friendly but it’s almost always great quality and also has the perk of being one-of-a-kind. Your chances of running into someone wearing the same outfit as you is very slim. I’ve been raiding thrift and vintage stores more and more while staring clear of malls.

I’ve been following the brand Alice McCall for quite some time now and it wasn’t until this past year that I’ve seen the Australian label popping up at all of my favorite US shops. I love when foreign brands get some recognition here in the US, especially since their pieces are much more daring than our own US labels. This little floral sheer playsuit is one of my favorite rompers this season since it’s so light yet playful. I’ve been pairing it with basic black accessories but wouldn’t mind a pop of pink or green, if I’m feeling a bit crazy.

turned red at stop lights.

turned red at stop lights.
Lately I’ve been drawn to fancier, lengthier dresses and coincidentally the color red. I love the bright, show stopping color that catches everyone’s eyes as you walk by. Plus, wearing red always feels romantic and even daring. After all “the lady in red” song became a hit because “lady in black” was just too common..even boring. & Maybe it’s the red dressed dancing emoji that has inspired these recent sentiments of mine. Either way, it’s filling up my closet fast. :*
