Now that our 3-day winter is over here in California, I can prepare for Spring/Summer and get away with wearing bikini tops and high waisted shorts to festivals and street fairs. I’m so excited about this coming summer, especially since I’m starting to collaborate with Forever 21 and I’ll be styling their pieces into my summer looks!

Festival season is at our fingertips and I just couldn’t wait to start planning outfits filled with floral prints, high waisted denim shorts, fanny packs (or “bumbags”, some might call them…) and colorful sunglasses. With the help of the lovely ladies at Forever 21, I can pretty much picture myself watching my favorite bands, eating watermelon and laying in the grass wearing these denim cut offs and printed crop tops. In my festival weekend bag, you’ll find these Forever 21 pieces along with my favorite summer soda, Jarritos and my favorite album, Voyeur by Saint Motel…you know, both are perfect for those long car rides out to the desert! :p

This is slightly different than my last post featuring the Jarritos Fruit Punch Flavor, but I wanted to post swimwear for Swimwear Monday! Heather Gildroy shot this of me on the rooftops of Downtown LA and I’m so happy the weather is becoming analogous to how it is in the photo. The two piece swimsuit is from American Apparel and I styled it here with Marc Jacobs Cat Eye Sunglasses and All Black Peep Toe Heels.

The weather man warned us all week that it would rain today, but fortunately for us, it only happened while we were sleeping. The day was hot and partly cloudy and it was perfect for kicking off your shoes and taking a dip in the pool, or laying out on a rooftop, catching up on reading. I feel like my time has been taken up by work and vice versa, and it’s been too long since I’ve escaped in literature. I did read The Internet Is A Playground by David Thorne this month, but I hardly think that counts since it’s mostly a collection of back and forth emails, hilarious stories and things that I wish I had made up myself. Either way, I ordered his most recent novel, along with some Bukowski books that I’ve never read. I’ll make it my goal this Spring and Summer season to read at least 10 books and of course, The Great Gatsby once more. I bet I can do it all while laying on rooftops drinking Jarritos!
These photos are from a while back when I shot for Jarritos. I figured I’d post them since I recently made the Jarritos Lime post. This “Fruit Punch” shoot was possibly my favorite, since I got to style it with the thoughts of Old Hollywood Glamour and Pin Up Suits. There is no wrong way to drink Jarritos, so why not doing it in a matching swimsuit and a head full of curls? Plus, Fruit Punch is one of my favorite Jarritos flavors and I can’t tell you how fitting it is for days by the pool!

These pictures are from a while back when Heather Gildroy took photos of me for Jarritos, a fruit soda that is unlike anything else! Giovanna Avila did make up and I got to look like a pin up queen (my favorite thing to look like). I did all of the styling and had the colors of my outfits align with the flavors of Jarritos. I can’t tell you how beautiful the bottles are to shoot with and how much fun I had putting together these outfits that were bright and bold! This was such an amazing shoot with some of my closest friends. You can check out the Behind-The-Scenes photos here.

outfit timeline 2013: september – december.

I’m alone and listening to Margot and The So and So’s and things are calm and perfect. I’m finally settled back in and have gotten around to finishing up the last of my 2013 timeline. Looking through these photos, I can remember every event, party and outing I went to and what I wore while attending. It was such a fun year and I got to spend it with the most amazing people, while wearing my favorite things. ;* 2014 has already been better, though…and I’ll be dressing better too!

So, there you have it for 2013! I can’t tell you how excited I am to give in to 2014 trends, new styles and open up my wardrobe to legwear!
